Five Must-Haves for All Founders

‍

As a founder, if you can answer these five clearly, anxiety goes down.

Five coaching excavations for founders worth returning to:

STATE
❓ What do you do when things get volatile and you can feel yourself becoming reactive?
🔎 Let’s explore the things that reliably help you regulate your nervous system and return to a state where you can respond skillfully rather than act impulsively. (Or let's build a practice)

STORY
❓ What do you do when you’ve lost the plot or start to feel rudderless?
🔎 Let’s reconnect the dots between where you’ve been, what you’ve learned, and why you are uniquely suited to solve this problem in this particular way.

SCOPE
‍
❓ What happens when your priorities start drifting toward other people’s expectations?
🔎 Let’s articulate the boundaries, constraints, motivations, and ways of working to help you stay aligned with your zone of genius and the life you’re actually trying to build.

SCALE
‍
❓ What do you do when you or the business either play small, plateau, or grow beyond what you even realize you want?
🔎 Let’s identify (or design) the repeatable personal and business systems that let you grow value without proportionally increasing your time, attention, or energy – so you scale through value, not volume.

STRATEGY
❓ What do you do when several directions seem possible and none feels obviously right?
🔎 Let’s refine your compelling vision, customer need(s), and organizing principle to help you distinguish a meaningful direction from another interesting distraction.

The road of entrepreneurship is never straight.

When I work with founders, these five inquiries give us useful places to excavate when the externalities start to exceed internal capacity to handle what's coming.

Managing our State is the first point of triage – but having the rest of these ducks in a row is sustaining.
Because sometimes the problem that looks strategic is actually a story problem.

Or sometimes the plateau that looks like a scale problem is really a scope problem.
And sometimes getting back on path simply means being reminded of your five answers before trying to ask another question that veers you off path.

They've been my trusty go-to's for a long time...both for self and other inquiry.

‍

❓ Do you have a diagnostic question they come back to time and again that alleviates anxiety ❓
