Untapped Lab works with experienced coaches, practitioners, educators and specialists in human potential, performance and wellbeing who have developed a distinctive way of working — even if they haven't fully articulated it yet.
You don't need to arrive with a methodology. You do need enough experience and pattern recognition for something meaningful to emerge from your work during our sessions.
That's often exactly why people come to Untapped.
Your methodology may currently be scattered across years of client work, exercises, notes, models, language and things you do intuitively. We use a structured design process to sense the patterns within that body of work and identify what's worth developing. You bring the expertise. I help you see and shape what's already there. Then we capture it into a system through my hybrid design thinking and coaching process.
The output depends on what's emerging from your work. It could become a signature methodology, unique system, singular model, set of tools, learning experience or evolved product — or an architecture that connects several of these. The goal isn't to manufacture another framework. It's to design the clearest and most useful expression of what makes your work yours. Like your Magnum Opus!
A sprint is a structured design process, not a series of open-ended coaching conversations. That said, I approach it with nuances of coaching so you have the space to discover it. We'll work through a combination of pre-work, live sessions and synthesis to extract your existing thinking, identify patterns, define principles, name concepts and design the architecture of your system.
Between sessions, I synthesize what we're uncovering and turn it into tangible visual and strategic assets we can interrogate and refine together. You'll leave with something you can see, explain and use — not simply a collection of insights.
No — Untapped Lab is a design practice, not an intellectual property law firm. Our work helps make your methodology distinctive, defined and identifiable: a stronger foundation for building intellectual property around your original work.
Legal protection through trademarks, copyright or other mechanisms is a separate step that should be handled with a qualified IP professional.
Great. That's what a lab is for!
We're not trying to validate the first idea you walk in with. We're looking for the strongest expression of your expertise.
Sometimes the initial framework evolves, two ideas collapse into one, or we discover that the real opportunity sits somewhere unexpected. The sprint gives us enough structure to move forward without becoming overly attached to the first answer.
The sprints are designed for busy working professionals. Weekly 60-minute Zoom sessions for the first four months followed by monthly 30-minute check-ins and some asynchronous communication for the last six months. The full process is front loaded during the earlier Sensing Phase where we do most of the discovery + design. You will have 1-2 hours of pre-work each week from prompts to help shape the output. You will also need to spend time uploading reference materials at the beginning so I have a starting point of what assets you are currently using in your work (if any).
Note: ask about the Fast Track option if this is your sole focus.
Your work stays yours. I don't upload unpublished client frameworks, methodologies or source materials to public AI tools or use them to train AI models. Sensitive working files are kept locally in protected folders, and AI is used selectively without compromising your confidential source material.
We also sign an NDA — and confidentiality and ownership are clearly addressed in our working agreement before we begin.
You're ready if you've been doing your work long enough to know you've developed your own way — but still find it difficult to explain exactly what makes it different. That’s why you need a sparring partner who is trained to hear you differently.
You might have too many ideas rather than too few. A methodology that mostly lives in your head. A service that's difficult to teach or scale. Or simply the sense that there's something bigger hiding inside the work you've already done.
You don't need to know what it is yet to start.
Yes. Sprints can be adapted for small founding teams when the CEO/Founder is too busy or the challenge requires multiple perspectives to be synthesized into one clear system, methodology or product. This is particularly useful when valuable thinking exists across several founders or domain experts but hasn’t yet been codified into a shared approach.
Yes. I’m interested in partnering with venture studios, accelerators and other organizations building in human potential, performance and wellbeing. This could mean bringing the Untapped process into a specific venture, working across a portfolio of founders, or designing a bespoke sprint around a recurring challenge. If there’s a fit, let’s explore it.
Yes—this is particularly aligned with my work. I can work alongside a founder, practitioner or subject-matter expert to sense the patterns inside their expertise, codify what makes their approach distinctive, and design it into a system, methodology or product that the wider team can build from.
Potentially. This work is very familiar to me as my background is in innovation strategy and new product concepting. To do this at the established brand level requires extensive qualitative and quantitative market feedback to find gaps and opportunities in the market. I no longer do this work through Untapped, however, can work with innovation teams in a consulting capacity to uncover new value space to help shape the insight research. Especially when the types of clients I currently work with are often at the cutting edge of new insights in human potential, performance, and wellbeing.
I’m most interested in partnerships where Untapped can bring its combination of sensing, synthesis and design to an ambitious idea in human potential, performance or wellbeing. That might be a one-off venture sprint, an embedded design partnership, or work across several ventures.
If you’re building something in this space and see an interesting intersection, book a Clarity Session and tell me what you have in mind.

There's a unique body of work hiding inside what you know.
A Clarity Session is a focused conversation to talk about who you are, what you've already built, and uncover where your strongest proprietary thinking may be hiding -- and whether there's an opportunity to turn it into a distinctive system.
No pitch deck required. Bring the messy thinking.
