Protect what is ownable.

You create something.
A framework. A phrase. A process. A way of seeing.

Then, months or even later, you notice a version of it inside someone else’s posts or program.

Not necessarily copied word-for-word.
Just…absorbed. Reframed. Integrated into their product in a way where they claim it’s theirs.

That can sting. And it happens more often than not because singular frameworks or models aren’t proprietary.

So realistically – that’s just how the cookie crumbles.

Because your ideas are not your moat.

People can borrow your language.
They can imitate your framework.
They can downright copy your content.

What they can’t copy is the deeper source it came from:

  • Your lived experience.
  • Other inspiring teachers who informed your insights.
  • Hundreds of patterns you’ve noticed.
  • Mistakes that shaped your judgment.
  • Ways you connect concepts to a bigger picture.
  • Client conversations that refined your thinking.
  • Or the next insight you haven’t created yet while your work continues to evolve.

That’s the difference between having an idea and having a body of work.

A static framework can be copied or integrated.

A living system of pattern creation is much harder to replicate.

Protect what is protectable.

  • Name your work.
  • Codify it.
  • Connect it to a bigger idea.
  • Create an experience around learning it.
  • Ask others to attribute it to you.

Those without any honor may still steal your work – but it’ll eat away at them because they knew it came from you.

So, let karma unburden you with that one, and focus on the aspects that are hard to copy.

The real competitive moat is not the idea you created, but the evolution around the body of work you live each day.
